Corrections and Retractions Policy

The Journal of Sustainable Engineering & Green Technologies is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the scholarly record. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical publishing standards and adheres to guidance provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

When necessary, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or removals to maintain the reliability and integrity of published content.

Version of Record (VoR)

Once an article is published in its final form, it is considered the official Version of Record (VoR). This version represents the definitive, complete, and citable scholarly publication.

The Version of Record includes all approved post-publication corrections and remains permanently accessible through the journal platform and preservation systems.

Post-Publication Corrections

Corrections may be issued when errors, omissions, or inaccuracies affect the readability, interpretation, discoverability, indexing, or integrity of a published article.

  • Erratum: Issued for publisher-originated errors
  • Corrigendum: Issued for author-originated errors
  • Minor typographical issues may be corrected without formal notice where appropriate

Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be issued when substantial concerns arise regarding the reliability, ethics, or integrity of a published article while an investigation is ongoing.

  • Potential research or publication misconduct
  • Concerns regarding data integrity or authorship
  • Inconclusive or ongoing investigations
  • Issues that may mislead readers if left unresolved

Retractions

The journal follows COPE retraction guidelines and may retract articles when findings are determined to be unreliable due to major errors, misconduct, or ethical violations.

  • Research misconduct or publication malpractice
  • Fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism
  • Compromised peer review
  • Unreliable findings or unsupported conclusions
  • Failure to provide valid supporting evidence

Retraction notices remain permanently linked to the original article.

Article Removal

Articles may be removed only in exceptional legal or ethical circumstances.

  • Serious breaches of privacy or confidentiality
  • Defamatory or unlawful content
  • Court orders or legal requirements
  • Content posing public safety risks

Supplementary Files & Research Data

Supplementary materials and research data associated with published articles form part of the permanent scholarly record. Significant updates may require a formal correction notice, while minor revisions may be updated with appropriate version information.

Author Name Change Policy

The journal supports inclusive publishing practices and allows authors to request changes to their name and/or pronouns for personal, legal, cultural, or gender-related reasons.

  • No supporting documentation is required
  • No public correction notice will be issued for privacy reasons
  • Updated information will be reflected in article metadata
  • DOIs and citation records remain unchanged
